Screen Tear after installing R9 290 X-Fire

Afternoon Overclockers!

I have recently installed a new GPU to my system and enabled X-Fire. Since doing so I seem to be experiencing some quite bad vertical screen tear.

It appears in any game that doesnt have V-Sync options and on any video I watch. Whether that be a DVD, Video file on my PC or a web based video.

Does anyone have any idea how I could remove, or even reduce the amount of vertical screen tear I am seeing?

Here are my system specs:

1. Processor - Devils Canyon Core i7 4790K

2.Motherboard -Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7

3.Memory (RAM) - Corsair CMZ16GX3M4A1600C9B 16GB (4x4GB) 1600MHz CL9 DDR3 Vengeance Blu Memory Four Module Kit

4.Hard drive(s) - Samsung 120GB SSD 840 EVO SATA 6Gb/s Basic + Hitachi HDT721010SLA360 ATA Device (931 GB)

5.Graphics cards- (X-Fire) - 1) Asus Radeon R9 290 "Voltage Unlocked" 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card 2)Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Vapor-X OC 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card

6.Power supply (PSU) - Seasonic G series 750w '80 Plus Gold' Modular Power Supply

7.Case - BitFenix Ghost Silent Tower Case - Black

8. Cooling - Corsair Hydro H110 280mm High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler

9. Monitor - Asus PB287Q 28" 4K 60Hz 1MS Gaming Widescreen LED Monitor.

Your knowledge and insight would be greatly appreciated!

Normally screen tearing is caused by a higher frame rate than the monitors refresh, however you are running at 4K @ 60hz so I'm not sure how often it could be occurring.

What would be useful to know is what the fps count is when the screen tear occurs (In games). If its when higher than you monitor refresh, you could try to artificially limit the fps to match your monitor (or maybe even slightly below) through something like rivertuner (Installed as part of afterburner) to see if that makes any difference, however I am not sure this will have any effect on the video issues. You will need to try it for yourself.

CCC v-sync only does OpenGL, but radeonpros got a v-sync option, which works in everything as far as im aware, or D3DOverrider if it'll work.

Vsync in CCC does DX also, its Triple Buffering that is for OpenGL only.
