just got myself a nice Peugeot 306 TD , whats this screw mod i keep hearing so much about? and how do i do it :)
thx in advance

Are you sure that you could handle the awesome power that the screw mod would liberate?

i'd advise only doing the screwmod if you're a professional driver. At the very least do an andy walsh course or something.

Tom.

step 1: get 4.3 inch phillips screw
step 2: insert screw in car

= Screw mod!

dont hold me responsible for the immense power that will insue

Basically,

The screw mod just gives you more power when you're thrusting down on the accelerator when you're head down say a long tunnel.

well put it this way, im a mechanic and ive never heard of it, unless its a fuel adjust or turbo pickup hehe, i tried google, couldnt find anythin :)

Such a small mod changes the whole characteristics of the car and as such should not be taken lightly. If you do go ahead with it then please be careful with the beast that will undoubtedly be unleashed.

Its like 10hp and 20lb of torque, theres compensator that allows for more boost pressure with increaseded fuel. Ideally you'd just wind in the compensator and manually open the waste gate. I used to run my DT at 24PSI with the fuel pump at full open, made 137hp and 190lb tq with a chargecooler. It would pull to the redline like that. :D

You wont see much more then 115hp from a stock intercooler and the old manual DT block is limited (read primative) anyway.

I read the guide on johns306.com some time back, went to reread it the other day and he has made it so you need to sign up. Couldn't be bothered as I dont have a pug, but Google cache is your friend.

Another guide I found http://www.maestro.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=4517

TDF.

There are tonnes of guides out there, i never actually bothered doing it but done properly you can see 120bhp from it.

Its fuelling/turbo pressure fettling basically, imagine it an ECU remap, without the ECU part :p .

I'll try and find the guide now.

Hehehe :D

Just got a topic reply notification from this thread, and Thunderbird flagged up the "This message may be a scam" tag. I reckon it's kind of appropriate for a thread talking about the Awesome Screw Mod Of Ultimate Power!

I love the first 2 replies. :D

My mate got his car "tuned" by the derv doctor (basically had the screw mod done).

You could certainly notice the improvement and it was more drivable. Seemed to have a wider power band instead of the TINY normal one.

Still couldn't keep with my uber 1.6 with butterfly wedge removal mod. ;)

join www.pug306.net you will then get access to 'the bible' (no jokes please) it has guides to tuning the fuel pump and actuator for both lucas and bosch systems.
So there we have it peeps
"the bible holds the secrets to the screw mod"

too late for a screw mod joke, damn

(had a Chuck Norris one lined up for a few days, waiting for the perfect moment :( )

Surely the awesome power unleashed through such a modification will be too much for the 306 and will cause all remaining bits of trim that have yet to fall off to... fall off?
