Scrolling refreshes in waves

As the above really. My Family PC scrolls up/down refreshing in waves i.e not smooth scrolling.

Windows XP
2.4ghz Pentium 4
1gb RAM
6800le

It'a only been happening recently, anyone have any ideas?

I assume your talking about your web browser. Make sure 'smooth scrolling' is selected.

Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing > Smooth Scrolling

what was said above, also this is a tell tail sign of missing graphics drivers. i suggest you head into device manager and check it out. Its possible windows updates has updated the graphics drivers with newer ones that arnt actually proper ones (seems to happen with certain geforce2's and 4's)

As said here, its a tell tale sign for missing graphics drivers......

Just reinstall them with the latest version.
