SCS - Anyone used them

Hi,

People report doom and gloom about SCS and wondering whether people have used them and their thoughts.

The sofa I do want is the John Lewis one, which compared with the cost of SCS etc. isn't too bad at £995
 
I bought my leather sofa from them a few years, delivered on time without any hassles. I've had the sofa over 4 years now and couldn't be happier.
 
Mmm maybe I'm being a bit harsh and snobish as John Lewis CS is brilliant, yet SCS's reviews on the net makes alarming reading
 
If the cost is similar, or only marginally more expensive, John Lewis is worlds better than SCS...
 
The John Lewis kit that I like is actually cheaper..


Basically we were desperate for a couch at the weekend but a deposit down and now I'm regretting it. I've got them to cancel the order, but they've said the deposit can be used for another order.

So I'm now looking at two options.
1) Use the deposit for a foot stool and nothing else and buy the John Lewis Granada couch.
2) Try and sell the credit to another customer..

Either way I'm very annoyed with myself as I've never done this before etc.
 
We ordered a sofa from Land of Leather and had nothing but hassle. Decided to get a refund on it and bought our replacement from SCS - they were excellent. Delivered on time less than a week after we ordered it from the shop. Only have good things to say about them.
 
I think what's put the wind up me is the SCS couches come to £3000, yet the JL ones come in at £2000
 
Bought our sofa from them, was ready before time but we hadn't moved in yet so they happily kept hold of it for 4 weeks after it was ready. Was delivered the day they said and they took away the packaging, except the fabric covers which they left for dust covers when we decorated.

I thought they were excellent personally.

I'd forgotten about that. They took away all our packaging too which was good. We'd ordered a 4 seater sofa that joined in the middle and they set it up for us too - not a great deal of extra work but they could easily have just dumped it in our living room all packaged up.

How much is the sofa at SCS (if you don't mind me asking)?
 
At that sort of price difference i'd probably go with the John Lewis one too, as long as I could get all my money back.

Is there nothing else in SCS you could put the money towards? I know I wouldn't want to spend the best part of £500 for something just to put my feet on.
 
I orderd 2 settee's from then with normal backs, but one came with a scatter cushion back, it took three months to get me the correct one :(

Also, the g/fs mum ordered a 2 and a 3 seat setee, they made a mistake and she got a 4seater and a 2 seater.

This leads me to the opinion that they are pretty crap, but there's a 50% chance that their bumbling will be to your benefit.
 
Well they've said no to a deposit refund, so I'll find the nearest thing to the deposit and buy that etc.
