One of the white LGA775 pins on my Infinity have snapped. Where can I get a replacement? I read a review online and someone says Intel replace the pins free of charge.

If that's so, have you written to Intel yet requesting a new pin? The pin, AFAIK, is the same as the design used on their OEM coolers so they should have boatloads of them on hand.

Should I just use the contact us form? I have the stock heatsink I can salvage for a pin, but I'm unsure how to remove it since it already comes fixed to it unlike the Infinity.

It got attached to the metal heatsink somehow thus it is very likely that it is removable by some method. I'd either use the contact us form or send an email to tech support. You needn't lie but it might help your case if you were to not mention that it isn't a problem with your Intel heatsink.

Thanks, I'll use the contact form I guess.
What I mean is there a way to remove just the white pins?
The bottom of the Intel stock cooler is like this -

The clips on the Scythe are like this -

Do you think it's possible? Also, how would I go about replacing the clips on the Infinity with the ones Intel are going to give me?

You can buy "* NEW * Original Fastener - Intel socket T 775 heatsink" on ebay for 75p.
They come in 2 pieces...this is how you fit.

Fitting the new fastener

First, insert the white plastic motherboard anchor into the heatsink bracket - from under the heatsink so that it fits as shown in the photo (A). Then orient the black plastic post to rest on top of the anchor as shown in the extra photo (B). Note that there is a small "key" moulded into the top of the anchor - this fits into a slot in the post. Check orientation with the circled area in the extra folder.

DO NOT PRESS THE TWO REPLACEMENT PARTS TOGETHER YET!

Double check!

Check again!

Only when you are happy that everything fits correctly and is oriented correctly (check with the other, good, fasteners on your heatsink) it's OK to press the black plastic post gently but firmly (only approx 4mm) onto the white motherboard anchor.

There! You've sucessfully replaced your broken heatsink fastener. Now you are ready to fit the heatsink / fan onto your motherboard, following Intel's recommended procedure.

Removal...

obviously, remove the broken/damaged fastener before you start!!! And make sure that you do not bend or damage the metal heatsink bracket whilst removing the old fastener. (The white moterboard post will literally fall out of the heatsink bracket if you get the angles right.)

Thank you! I've just ordered one. Looking at the infinity they seem pretty easy to remove and put back on so there should be no problems. Thanks again!
