Would this work....

I currently have the 120mm YS-Tech Fan on an XP-120 HS,

- Speed - 2800RPM
- Output - 125CFM
- Decibels - 40.5dBA
- Dimensions - 120x120x38

If I was to somehow "fashion" a second retaining mechanism onto the Scyth Ninja could I fix an extra 120mm to it in a push > pull config to exhaust air onto the rear case fan?

If that was possible I was thinking of therefore using 2x 120mm AcoustiFan's, specifically the dustproof one,

- Dimensions: 120 x 120 x 25mm
- 12v: 56.3 CFM, 24.7 dB(A), 1500 RPM
- 7v: 41.5 CFM, <15.6 dB(A), 1050 RPM
- 5v: 25.2 CFM, <10.0 dB(A), 675 RPM
- Double Ball Bearing
- Life expentancy: 60,000/ hrs

That would give me 2x 56.3CFM's of airflow which is nearly the same as the 1x YS-Tech that I had before but also drastically quieter.

Comments? If it sounds feasable it may be worth giving it a go over my XP-120 setup. :)

Cheers!

You wouldnt get double air flow doing that.

If you tried that with two case fans on your desk, you wouldnt feel much more air flowing through

Ive attached two 120mm panaflo fans to my ninja...

Using cable ties to make a big square :D

I found it lowered temps by about two degrees or less,

EDIT : Try it dude, youve got nothing to lose, unless i read your post wrong :)

Just use one quiet fan, akasa amber should do due to the large space between fins on the ninja theres little resistence.

BTW lmao @ the quote on your sig :D love that show

The difference wouldn't be worth it. Getting two extra fans is £20 or more. It migth give you a degree or two but not much more, changing the stock fan to a better one would have more impact. Because the fins are so wide apart the normal benifit of having two fans for the increased pressure to push through the fins would have no affect as the pressure needed is already small.

That said bodging fans into places is always fun :)

If you've already got the fans give it a go but don't bother buying them unless they would have another use after.

My 120mm case fan is that close to the back of my Ninja, I could barely fit another fan in between.....Plus there is the 120mm fan on the bottom of my Hiper 580W PSU pulling air from the case as well....If your case cooling is up to scratch, I really don't see the benefit of adding another fan to the heatsink itself...

The ninja has its limitation of spreading the heat at a level of air flow. Which means no matter how windy it is, the temp should not decrease.

Wow a lot of information there, thankyou all for the replies. :) Where to start, I hear what people are saying about it perhaps not making a difference for the cost of the extra fan, so if I was to get one if may be something to do.... like Sandmaster says "it's fun to bodge fans!" :D

Thanks for the pic as well btw, it's huuuuuggge! I doubt my YS-Tech would fit being the thicker 120mm fan.

Thanks Raikiri, the show is well funny. ;)

Thanks again peeps, now I just need to find some extra cash! I hope it's better than my XP120! Does anyone know if it is better?
