Weird one - I have an SD card full of camera images which worked absolutely fine, without any hassle on my GFs laptop but I've just tried to open them on my Macbook to find every JPEG is completely corrupt. They don't work in Preview, Safari, Photoshop, Pixelmator etc. Only around 10 images on the entire SD card actually work, which is incredibly odd. Why them and not the other hundred odd photos  Any ideas?

There's also AVI videos taken on the camera too, which aren't working either.

I don't know if this helps but sometimes when I get images in say a rar, there's a separate Mac folder?

Hmmm, not sure. Jpeg is a universal format, it should work and does work every other time. I import images from my own cameras SD cards all the time, too. Weird...

you put your cards in the wrong place! they were never meant to go inside the APPLE get it trough the window and it should fit no problems.. :)

haha why have a rotten apple when you can gave upon the world through windows...

Just save the media to a different storage device and try that way.

Tried :) I saved it to a compact flash card and tried to view the images through my camera and that didn't work either.

Maybe dump a linux live dvd, and save to the macs hard drive that way?
it sound like its having issue with the sd card not the images.

Got photoshop? Either open it on your GF's computer and resave them and see if that works or just resave it as a Tiff*.

*Photoshop has a batch command which is really easy to use.

Have you put them back into a PC to see if they will still open?

Copied them to desktop or imported into iPhoto if you have it?
