SDD and HDD with OS

Hello. Im looking at getting a 128gb SSD and putting windows 8.1 on it.

I have a 500GB HDD now with windows 7 on it which I will want to use as a storage drive. Will I be able to just plug it in and use it as a storage drive with windows 7 still on it? Obviously when installing windows 8.1 to the new SSD ile unplug the storage HDD.

Yes you can,could even bootup into windows 7 on it if when needed

Thats good to know. Might download the ISO file for windows 8.1 now. As its my birthday tomorrow ile probably order a second hand 128gb SSD some time this week and just run 8.1 on it

If the trial runs out for whatever reason I can always just go back to the standard HDD then

happy b'day

just press one of the f buttons at splash screen for the boot menu then pick which hdd/ssd/os to boot up into

or set the hdd/ssd as first boot device in the bios
