bump pls someone suggest - i want fast reliable start ups and quick file changes. I was thinking about getting the:

Samsung 500GB 860 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 64 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive

however if there is a cheaper alternative that's good and is compatible with my build please share!!!!

I have a gigabyte motherboard so I was wondering if the gigabyte sdd was good? The 256 seems to be a reasonable price but there are two: Is it wise to get an sdd that isn't 500+ for video editing/high fps games?

256GB M.2 PCIE X2 NVME SSD/SOLID STATE DRIVE

Transfer speed will only be as fast as the slowest link in the chain.

I'm not familiar with bmpcc. . Will you be transferring over usb 3?

Anyhoo..
I'd go with the drive you selected,
Or It might be worth considering an m.2 Nvme SSD drive as your board supports it.
You'd need to analyse whether the faster drive would give you any real benefits.

If you are constantly moving files around then it may be worth going for a Samsung m.2 Nvme drive..

Will most likely import via SD card with bmpcc raw files. I wont do it very often but from time to time I'll edit a project I imagine. I don't really want to spend around 90 but if its necessary for raw import/exports i might stretch it. Is the Gigabyte not sufficient enough?

There are two and I don't know which one to get to start with:

The SD card reader will probably be the slowest link in the chain but don't quote me on that..

So in that respect it doesn't matter what type of ssd drive you have.
