seagate 100 gig 4200.2 only showing 1mb

i bought this second hand but when i attach it to to my external 2.5 ich case
plug it itno my laptop or pc its only show as 1mb in partion magic 8 as well ive delet, ed and created a new partion but still wont give me the option to choose more that 1mb plus it takesd ages for my pc to reconize the drive as well.

is it faulty thnx for any help

Certainly sounds as if the drive is a bit iffy if it's taking that long to be recognised.

Have you looked at the drive in Disk Management to see what it reckons is going on?

Right click on My computer, click Manage, then select Disk Management

still says its 1028 in size wont let me alter it and disk managment did not wont to boot with the drive attached ??????? just saYS ITS 1.00 GB IN SIZE.
