the .11 version, bought in august
post keeps hanging then saying hard drive error this one ive mentioned, the other 3 are fine
unplugged this one and it was the offender
is it dead?

Sounds like it unfortunately. Assuming you've tried a different PSU lead and a different sata lead and port ?

Subject to the above, I'd be RMAing. Fortunately, Seagate are great with RMAs

yes tried multiple power and leads and sockets, where the others work
ho hum
doesnt happen that often though
