Seagate 3tb Barracuda Problem

I've just installed a Seagate 3tb Barracuda drive into a new htpc and during the windows installation i partitioned the drive into two, 750gb and the rest for storage. The problem i'm having is the drive won't let me install or format the 750gb of unallocated space. I can't even delete it, any idea why this has happened and how to sort it.

Are you trying from Disk management?

Right click the area and allocate the space/create a simple volume.

The disk managment won't let me do anything with the unallocated 750gb space. its like its reserved it.

I have a feeling while you installed windows you actually made the 200MB Hidden System Partition larger instead of deleting it and creating new partitions for your data and OS. I normally go threw the windows advanced options when asked to format the drive or partition it and delete the hidden partition and then go back and extend the other partition I created so it looks like 1 drive and 1 partition using all the space, but if you want more than one partition all you need to do is delete the system hidden partition and create 2 new ones but do make sure and go back and check it has not recreated it and then shows 3, if it does delete the system partiton and extended the other 2 partitions or one if you desire to use up all the remaining empty space available.

Also you can't delete it once you install windows in the storage management, people use other tools to delete it but I wouldn't do that it can maess up the MBR and cause windows problems and partition table errors. Best way is to reinstall windows again and make sure not to allow the hidden partition to be created in the first place.

Yep but i have not installed windows on it yet. In windows setup i created a 750gb partition and left the rest of the 3tb drive for files for my htpc. I go to install windows on the 750gb and it won't install, format and i can't delete. I get one of two errors when trying to delete or install on the 750gb partition. ERROR: 0x80300024 or ERROR: 0x80024268.
