Was thinking of getting two of these, but am worried about the Pink / Green glue problem with the silent / noisy motor respectively.

Have contacted Overclockers via the website and they cannot guarantee me that the drive won't come with the Green glue and won't check the drives before sending... so my question is, is there anywhere anyone can recommend that definitely WILL guarantee the silent motor version?

1) Anywhere else will be a competitor so naming is a no-no.

2) There is no correlation between the glue colour, the place of manufacture and the noise therefore the only way to tell is to remove the drive from it's sealed packaging and test it. No large scale retail operation will undertake this, it's simply too time consuming.
 
Ahh that puts a whole different slant on things; here's me thinking the Pink ones were the best... hmm may not bother with Seagate at all then, as the noise would be a major factor for me.
