My case is on the wall next to my right ear , at the moment i have a couple of WD's and they are ok , but the whine i heard from the 7200.10 would drive me nutty.

the 7200.10 does not have a whine, well mine doesnt atleast. Also can't hear no drive spinup eitha or spindown.

i have 2x 250gb sata with pink on bottom, whining is something i dont care about and cant tell about if the 2 seagates are whining, because i have 5 hdd's in total...

When seeking tho, the 2x250 gb seagates are quite noisy, noisier than my hitachi dekstar or wd caviar, but the 2 hdd's together are still more silent as maxtor when seeking...

i have a 7200.10 320gb giger counter thats going to get thrown of the wall as it drives me nuts
is it the green or pink motor, i was curious at the motors i had in my current seagates so i opened up my case only to discover that both my 250gb ide and 80gb sata 2 drives had the pink motor, i dont hear any motor niose from my pc at all well maybe some from my raptor but not the seagates.

I have a 250GB 7200.10 (IDE), 2x250GB WDs (SATA) and 1x200GB Samsung (IDE) and I can't really hear one over the other (or really hear them at all)...the Samsung is probably the loudest at idle with the Seagate/WDs being just about audible on seek.
