It seems that the next quickest drives bar SSD, Velociraptors and the large capacity drives over 1TB with 32mb cache are 500GBs from the benchmarks ive seen.

So based on all round performance which one would you choose? If there are just as fast drives at around ~300GB please suggest as that might work better for me if its the same price ill go with 500gb :p

Not sure how to interpret the results myself :(

Thanks in advance

The 7200.12 500GB drives I have used have been terrible!
At work we ordered around 10 and we lost 6 within a few hours. Horrible drives!

As for the F3, I have the 1TB version at home and it seems pretty good. I would also go with WD as I have never had one fail :)

Pot luck maybe!
