So, I heard that there are two types of 250Gb 7200.10s out, the older ones (that are lower density and I think aren't as quiet) and the newer, single-platter versions, which are supposedly renamed 7200.11s but for some reason Seagate didn't rename their 250Gb models to reflect this. How much truth is in this, and does OcUK only have the newest stock or would there still be a chance of getting an older model?

They're the new types. Have one myself. HD Tach looks good at 81Mbs ave transfer rate but Windows boots up much slower than my old 7200.10 320Gb. Rather confusing. Just read a pretty bad review of the 7200.11 on the tech report website so maybe they're not as good as the spec suggests they should be.
