So in light of experiencing some HDD problems recently I'm going to buy a backup drive. Currently have all my media on a Seagate Barracuda 2TB - have not really had any issues with this drive and was about to purchase another identical drive to back-up to, however wondered if the WD Red with an extra years' warranty would be a better purchase? Is the WD Red much slower and are there issues using these drives in a desktop? It's used for my games, and media.

Thanks

The Western Digital red drives are really good for storage I have two and have been very pleased with them, the warranty is great too.

However if it were me I would get a Western Digital Black drive as they are much faster which will benefit you when gaming. They also have a 5 year warranty which is a massive bonus, they do come in a bit more expensive though.
