Seagate external HDD not powering on.

I have a USB seagate external HDD that was working a few days ago with no problems and now no power.
The adaptor has a green light showing its on, but when i press the power button on the seagate external HDD the light on the adaptor switches off. I tried another adaptor and exact same thing.
There's never any light on the HDD.

Any ideas?

take it back and get an rma
