Hi Seagate drives will be live on Black Friday. Got to follow Seagate rules. They will either be Black Friday or cyber Monday.

I wish Black Friday was just the weekend.

Best bet is probably to go to the Synology Compatibility Checker, input your specific DiskStation model, and see which drives it lists as being compatible with your DiskStation. Here is the IHM (IronWolf Health Management) Manual as well, it lists which Synology DiskStations and which models of IronWolf are going to be compatible with IHM. Just a heads up, for IHM, you will need a minimum of 4TB capacity IronWolf drive.

is the firecuda any good for raid0

Depends on what the use case is: Some people have wanted to RAID 0 the FireCudas thinking that the SSD cache portion would then double and work as a cache for the whole RAID, but the firmware on the drives doesn't know how to be utilized this way, so part of the benefit of the FireCuda over a traditional spinning HDD is lost in RAID 0. The FireCuda does have a 5 year warranty versus the typical 2 of most desktop-grade drives, so more than double the warranty could be a reason to still go the FireCuda route, however for the purposes of cost-effectiveness with RAID 0 as a priority, it may be a better fit to just stick with your standard desktop-grade drives like the BarraCuda.

If you want the best performance when talking RAID, then you may want to look at drives engineered for NAS use, like the Seagate IronWolf. These drives have firmware specifically designed for intensive RAID environments, they detect and protect against vibration in ways that desktop-grade drives don't know how to account for, have firmware (AgileArray for IronWolf) with advanced Error Recovery Control, a feature which allows the controller to detect when a drive is being bogged down by correcting an error and pass it on to the next drive in the array to optimize performance. They are also rated for 24x7 use, up to 180TB of data per year, and have a 3 year warranty. The IronWolf Pro is rated for up to 300TB of data per year and have a 5 year warranty plus 2 free years of rescue services.

That for the Pro ST4000DM006 ?

No it is the ST4000DM004. The one you are asking for is on this week only at the moment and will end shortly returning to it's normal price of 159.99.

The current promo on the PRO drives is a free copy of Assassins Creed Origins.

Hi,

That drive will not be going down in price for a little bit now as it has another promotion on it so I can't get support. At the moment it is 89.99inc with a free assassins creed.
