i have never had an hard drive like this its it doing my nut in

every 30mins or so that sound like its accessing like a beep/clicking sound its hard to explain

but i checked windows 7 resources and the drive is not even accessing

Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) HDD

any ideas i flashed the latest firmware to no help

Check windows power management isn't turning the drive off after it's been idle for a certain time, if it is you'll be hearing it starting up all the time when you or a program accesses it. I only hear mine when the PC first posts, and i have 4 of the 2TB ones in there.

I have a 2TB Seagate drive that does the same thing.
