Hi all,

I'm in the market for a new external drive to backup everything too. All together there is around 1TB of data, mainly films, music and pictures. Speed won't really be an issue as I will perform the backups overnight (when I intend to sleep). I've been reading up on them and come to the conclusion that I would like either a Western Digital or a Seagate however I cannot decide which is better. I used to swear (as did many others) that Western Digital were the best however after talking to a few others about this, they say that now Seagate has taken over? Anyway I would like some advice, which one would you guys go for?

The drives are:

Western Digital 2TB Elements

or

Seagate 2TB FreeAgent GoFlex

and just to throw a spanner in the works.... Whats your opinions on a Buffalo 2TB JustStore?

Thanks in advance, Tom

Off the ones you mention I would choose the Western Digital 2TB Elements simply because at present time WD has a better reputation for reliability than Seagate...

Have never had a Buffalo product, so can't comment on them...

Thanks very much mate, been reading lots of things about Seagate at the moment anyway. Thanks again.
