well iam looking for a storage drive and though i have my external 250g seagate IDE which has been great! i was looking for somthing internal. my external drive swaps nicely between my lappy and work, but would like an internal soloution for some things.

the seagate sata II drives do have a 5 year warrenty, which is one of the best around.

views welcome! i am looking at the 200g sata II

The Seagate drives are excellent quality and do have a good reliability record. Seagate are also starting to eat into the edge of WD for performance drives as well with the higher amounts of cache and SATA-II interface plus the 5 year warranty makes these excellent drives.

Yup, a Seagate would be a great drive to spend your money on. Hitachi would be equally great, but the Seagate's 5 year warranty should 'seal the deal'. The 5 year warranty just goes to show how long they're engineered to last.

my thinking exactly guys! ive orderd me a 200gig which should be with me tomorow! the 5 year warrenty takes some beating and to offer that like you have said means they must at least expect them to last that long!

cheers!
