I believe that Seagate drives are more susceptible to vibration than other manufacturers. If you damp your case properly and use only 1 or 2 drives it will significantly improve the longevity of your disks. Special NAS drives like WD Reds actually have sensors in them which tweak the rotation speed to prevent resonance between multiple drives.
