Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 500GB ST3500630AS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM
or
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB 5000AAKS SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM

im a gamer, and for my new system, i need the best performance out of my drive. (no, Raptors are too expensive) (no, RAID 0 are too much hassle)

also, out of which (320GB, 400GB or 500GB) offer the best performance?

Western Digital are said to be faster! But i think its horse for courses mate, both are very good!

bear in mind though, my aaks is faster than average and my 7200.10 is slower than average. the drivers are generally closure than that. and take no notice of the burst rates as well lol

what size is optimum for performance? 320? 400? 500?
(300GB+ will be enough for me)
