Hi there! I just installed Hard Disk Sentinel after a pal's reccomendation and it found that one of my HDD ( a Seagate one) is dying! So, i installed Seagate's tool for checking their drives and everything is ok! (according to them).
Which one do i believe guys? What would yuo do now?
Many thanks!

Generally I use seagates seatools from a bootable cd for hard disk diagnostics, run the full surface scan (it may take upwards of an hour.) I can't think of a single example where it has failed to find a bad drive or flag up a good drive as bad. Its a tool I use weekly and its not let me down yet.

If you want to try running a diagnostic from windows then try crystal disk info or hdtune - I will use these usually to confirm what seatools says.

I've used a lot of diagnostic tools over the years but HD sentinal has passed me by. I'd suggest a full scan with a bootable cd to be sure.
