Like you said, you have sorted the problem. But now check the external for loose and broken silicone lines and fix as described if found. Make sure your keeping the damp away from your cavity;) and inner brickwork.

We always build to the 'Scottish detail' where the window and cill are fixed to the timber frame then the window slips behind the brickwork. Looks like yours if fixed to the external skin, not a problem, just different, We have to allow 6mm of settlement per floor compound, I'm assuming your no more than 3/4 floors high.
 
Yeah I'm third floor, the builder said to expect about 3mm per floor. It's a Stewart Milne timber frame job, but thankfully not one of his builds :D
