Search function on OCUK isn't working using moblie

Latest version of Android. Samsung Gallaxy S6+.

Quick search has never worked for me from an android device. Always have to use advanced search.

I have always had the same issue. The search box shows up and just instantly disappears.

Won't be a recent change, has been like this for years. Just accepted it's the way things are.

If your zoomed out it opens the quick search box, but then selecting it closes it. If your zoomed in it looks like its doing nothing, but its actually opening the search box waaay over to the right, and still closes as soon as you select it.

It's been like this forever.

Yeah, happens on other forums too. Although I think on vB you can choose to have a search box at the bottom (not a floating one).

I think its somehow something to do with the onscreen keyboard - my Windows tablets do the same thing first time (as the onscreen keyboard appears) but once the keyboard is already open will work the second time you try, Android and Windows mobile devices have always instantly closed it again on me even once the onscreen keyboard is open.

Just do a long-press and then click out of the drop-down that pops up. Not ideal but works.
