Seasonic PSU Models Help

My new CPU arrived last week so I installed my new Motherboard/CPU/RAM including my new Seasonic PSU in my PC over the weekend.
When it came time to switch it on, I initially switched it on with the sides off and the case fans disconnected (the only fan running was on the Noctua NH-D15S CPU cooler with a single Noctua NF-A15 PWM fan).
I tried to listen, but unfortunately, I was unable to verify if the PSU fan was even working. The Seasonic PSU was fastened in and the the fan was inverted and out of sight. Pushing the "fan-control" button in and out on the back of the PSU appeared to make no difference whatsoever.
I even shut the doors and windows (it was a hot day) turned off the dishwasher and managed to even get the wife to be quiet for a few minutes, but to no avail - I was still unable to hear if the fan was working.
Finally, I got a torch and mirror and was finally able to get a visual on the fan - and guess what? - it was spinning round and round - so I guess you could call it quiet
Anyway, that's when the trouble started - I forgot to turn the dishwasher back on and it appears that I am never going to hear the end of that one!

thats good news, i have yet to get one for my system as a lot of other parts are still out of stock

Re Seasonic PSU fans not running until higher loads. Seasonic PSU's have been like this since the X series in 2009. Those original X series were incredible, reliable, very stable output, efficient and most of the time dead silent, they were introduced at a time other manufactures PSU's were silver or bronze rated.

Any of their modern PSU's derived from the X series platform will be the same regarding silent fan operation until load.

I still have not bought a Seasonic as i wanted the case first and now i bought one, but start lookign around and found out that the Focus Plus range are getting discontinued for the new range Focus PX and GX series.

The newly upgraded FOCUS PX and GX series are the successor to the FOCUS PLUS Series, which became an instant the top seller in the power supply market after its launch in 2017. In 2019, Seasonic engineers have made improvements on the popular series, removing the inline capacitors on the supplied cables. Besides the small change in the series naming, the PSU housing and its packaging are also updated to be in line with the concept of the OneSeasonic Initiative.

thats good as i was going to go for a ultras because of the inline caps in the cables which i did not want for cable mods.

eg. model number.
Old SSR-850PX
New Focus PX-850
