Yer nan's knickers
Specifically the 2022 model.

Horrible, hateful thing. We asked for an SUV as a rental and it was this or a Qashqai. So we went with this.

The engine has about as much torque as a disabled goldfish so I'm rowing my own about 10x as often as I would in my Mini. The car has all manner of beepy safety systems telling me every time I'm near something, if it were my car (which it'd never be as I'd rather sell it) I'd code that nonsense out sharpish. The dash has a screen and the satnav on it is stuck so even if you choose to have the nav on, it just sits there, meaning I can only use the center screen for the nav. It went in to limp mode on the way back from the collection point last night, on the M25 ofc. I had to pull over, reset the car and it's been fine since. The power steering seems to want to run on telepathy alone, just touching the wheel means the car wants to move all over the place.

The mirror dips in reverse. Singular. One only. The mirrors are heated but the windshield isn't.

The infotainment system makes me want to stab a kitten.

Don't buy an Ateca. What a horrible thing.

I vote bring back the Motors offtopic thread...

Well, we seem to have a thread for every other car so I thought why not give the second lamest car I've ever driven (Citroen C3 being the worst) a chance to shine :D

And that list includes a Citroen Cactus, for some perspective.

I picked up my Ibiza last week which is basically the same thing without the stilts and I love it so far :D

That's the Arona isn't it?

What is it with manufacturers picking all these near identical meaningless names to confuse things?! VAG as a whole are one of the worst for this and Skoda jumps straight to mind - Kamiq, Karoq, Kodiaq

Yep you are correct! I retract my previous statement :o

Always wondered what these would be like to drive with the 2.0 tfsi, I am going to guess this was one of the 1.4s.

I suspect the other complaints would be across many other VAG car, or dare I say many newer cars!

I think they do these with the 1.0 as well, so I would bet the OP had that. The newer 1.5 tsi isn't too bad but it's still not a lot of power in a car this size. I had a Skoda Karoq for a couple of years with the 2.0 tsi and that went pretty well, which is basically the same car as the ateca.

We got a cupra Ateca as our family car and it’s absolutely superb. Our one is about as high spec’d as you can possibly get though.
