Seat time

I've never heard of it either. I think it's an American expression for something. Here's the context:

"When you look at the expensive disk drives, there are reasons why they're expensive. They have more revolutions per second and typically have faster seat times. They're better"
 
That's a typo, should be seek time.

I wouldn't take much from the article to be honest, it's hardly an objective opinion and the English leaves a lot to be desired.
 
Yes I agree, however my job is to translate technical articles such as these into French, so I have to have an understanding of the phrases used and translating 'chatty' American is a nightmare ...
