Good deal right? It's what i've been offered and i'm ready to snap them up :) They've done a hundred miles or so, but seem ok to me, what should i be looking out for?

Reason for sale is my friend has bought some expensive wheels that came with XTR hubs, and thus his IS mounts don't fit and he's just going to buy XTR brakes instead...

What do the 7's do that special compared to the 3's and 5's?

I thought he would just have to replace the rotors with shimano splined (centre lock) rotors, not the full calipers and levers don't take my word as gospel though.

I guess if your front forks are post mount (may need an adapter), rotor size (maybe to big for forks), hose length if been cut to fit his frame, just general wear a tear I guess.

Juicy 7 has a 'Speed Dial' which according to my manual adjust the engagement point, the point being where your brake pads to engage right where your grip on the lever is strongest.

hope that some help

I think it's just an excuse for hi to upgrade really, he's like that, since he's just spent hundreds on wheels...
I've read about speed dial, is that the only "extra" they have, seems good but surely once i've adjusted that i'll probably leave it. What does the Juicy 5 set have over the Juicy 3 then? I was going to buy the 3/5's new, but i can get these 7's second hand for less it seems...

according to this PDF Guide

All The Same Apart from 5 does not have the speed dial
3 does not have speed or the split clamp, also on sram site the picture of the calliper look different as well.

You can get a set or Oro's for just over 100.

I had Juicy 5's and had no probs with them, but I know loads of people who wouldn't touch Avid discs again due to leaks and poor performance.

I'm sure you could get LX's for about 100 too.

Hmmmm, so now people are against it? I spoke to the frient today, and he's fine with £100. Will i really be disappointed coming from my old V-Brakess (which are ***te)?

What could i get better for £100 all in?

Looks quite difficult to pick them up for £100 on eBay, generally they go between 50-70 each or 100-120 for the set. It seems easier to me to get these off my mate for £100 guaranteed, no delivery, and i know what they've done... OK maybe they're slightly worse? But apart from opinion, i can't see anything wrong on paper :)
