Got a phone call from Skoda yesterday asking if I would be interested in trading in my 70 Plate kodiaq (has all the big addons bar DCCS) and just ticked over 18k miles
Reckons I'd get 26ish valuation on my kodiaq (but didn't seem to know what addons) and proceeded to try and sell be a Kodiaq in red with no addons :/

I asked about addons and he goes oh yeah if you add any addons you be in 40k+ straight away loltax!

I'm failing to see the sense behind this lol
My brother had a similar thing on his A class lol. He started with an A250....then an A200 and then "to keep your monthlies the same pal we have a lovely A180 for you with no gear".

Thread revival

i still not seen a drop, but I'm hearing EVs are dropping though

I'm going to have to bite the bullet soon and get a newer car

But with this 2030 ban coming, I can see people getting petrol cars , so I can't see prices dropping anytime soon

Thoughts?

EV was the way I planned on going, petrol prices calming a little and the leccyprices going mental makes no sense.
Fuel Prices yesterday at costco 140.9 / 146.9 / 149.9 Pizzle E10 / Pizzle Premium E5 / Diseasel
As above any half decent new car jumps straight into the 40K bracket now with then does you over on the tax.

Sounds like the convo I had then lmao, oh a newer reg plate.. what else do I benefit from lol

They've messed around with the addons again this year and looks like for simple heated mirrors you now need to select heated front seats too :/
Such a convoluted addon system skoda use

EV's have really come down a lot, Hyundai Ioniq's have come down maybe 4-5k in the last 2 months. MG5's a similar amount, but as others said with electric being so crazy expensive it's still a fairly hard sell.

The cheap tariffs for EV's seem long gone, sure you can get 7.5 or 10p overnight rates but then your day rate is jacked way up to around 50p so you'll need to do a fair amount of miles to break even let alone make useful savings.

Coupled with the again crazy prices of getting an EV charger installed of around £1000 it makes the lower end of the EV market a bit of a hard sell if you're having to spend almost 10% of your purchase price again just to be able to use it, and that's assuming it's a straightforward install :(

Ovo rate at 11p , perpetually on a granny charger, with a £20K 64Kwh used kona sounds quite good ? most people could get to work.
with inflation (even exchange rate - for ferraris?) that's eroding used car prices too
