Second hand tank price?

So, im looking to buy a tank ready for the impending zombie apocalypse.

Can anyone suggest something reasonable?

I was thinking a second hand M1 Abrams, but may look at a Challenger 2 for ease of maintainance.

My plan is to haul up at a supermarket with a petrol station and use the tank to scare everyone away.

Petrol on hand, food and supplies in the store.

£4k should get you a reasonably decent FV432. £9k would get you one in top condition.
While the best you could hope for with one of these is a 20mm Rarden turret, you'd also have enough space to live comfortably inside. You wouldn't get that with an outright tank!

Woah there Heinz, you're making a big mistake.

"Why?" I don't hear you ask. Well, a tank, especially a modern-era tank, would be insane overkill for a zombie apocalypse. You wouldn't need a big ol' 120mm cannon for zombies, nor would you need a Chobham overcoat. They also drink fuel like nobody's business. You'd be far better off with an armoured personnel carrier of some kind: more room for provisions, ammunitions and weaponry, armour to deal with any kind of deadhead and it will still boast some high-calibre boomsticks.

Id go with an IFV. Plenty of chopping power with a 25mm Chain gun for mass hoards of zombies. Plenty of room in the back for supplies and rescuing people also loads of gunports!!
