Second hard drive not recognised

Hi all.
I have a HP 15-ba033na laptop. I recently installed a crucial 240gb ssd and put the old wd 1tb hdd into a caddy in the optical slot. The crucial ssd is working fine, but the wd hdd is no longer recognised by the computer. Disc management doesn't see it, device manager doesn't see it, and nor does the bios. Does anybody have any ideas why this could be or what I can try?

Can you move the drive back to where the ssd is and see if it’s detected by the bios? This will show if it’s a issue with it using the slot by the caddy or the HDD playing up.

either that or see if you can connect it to a desktop pc as a second drive and see if windows finds it

Thanks for the reply. I have now resolved the issue, touch wood... turns out there was a tiny switch inside the caddy that was not mentioned in the instructions. I flicked that over and now all seems to work...
