Second Iteration of Special Edition Drivers Incoming from AMD in November – Will Include Significant

The "never settle" drivers gave a huge increase in the 7970 a few years back. I'm sure it was over 20% in some cases. Would be sweet if these were like that.

lol ive still not played gta5 or got witcher3 past lvl10 or so
i slack so bad on the big games
been playing a dumb fishing game for the past 2 weeks

i dont see anything on that list about performance increase, i dont understand what half that stuff means but i guess its good!

That list is from the Omega update, lol. There's no real information about the new drivers yet.

oic! :) i should have read the link
maybe they will start shouting about it a couple weeks b4 so we get to find out then

Brack Friday Bunduru and special sauce drivers would net them some sales. I reckon this will make or break AMD 14nm for me. If they cannot support all the new VSR resolutions and remove the 55-90 limit on FRTC they might as well pack thier bags.

They've had 12 driver releases so far this year, so more than one a month. And the first one of the those was in late March, so they've been on a rampage recently. :D

12? I remember nothing for several months at the start of the year and then a few close together due to how they released drivers for just the 300 series then again a few weeks later too also work with the 200 series after scamming the 300 series release reviews by holding back optimisations from the 200 series cards and we've had a few since but I can't recall 12 this year. Nowhere near.

Uh oh.. As a cat?

I'm embarrassed to say I've sunk many hours into that

Twice as many as Bf4, GTAV, W3 and COD AW

but greg wanted a chance to show he likes AMD too!!
sweet of him <3

Spot on Mei. Whilst I do favour Nvidia, I also like to see AMD doing well and keeping an eye for the future as you never know what GPU you will buy next :p

15.3 - 20th March
15.4 - 14th April
15.4.1 - 15th May
15.5 - 29th May
15.15 - 16th June (300 series only)
15.6 - 23rd June
15.15v2 - 23rd June (300 series only)
15.7 - 8th July
15.7.1 - 29th July
15.8 - 31st August
15.9 - 29th September
15.9.1 - 1st October
15.10 - 13th October

So 13 actually, although you could say that 15.6/15.15v2 (bringing Bam Ham Knight improvements to each series) and 15.9/15.9.1 (latter was a rapid hotfix for a memory issue) are basically the same, so 11 "proper" releases.

Looks like a fairly regular set of releases to me. Really looking forward to the next "Omega" style driver update, but not going to hope that they give us the Moon on a Stick. That way I hope to be pleasantly surprised. :)

If that makes you feel better about how we've been made to wait fine but I disagree a lot of them aren't proper releases.

Here's 4 that should have all been one except AMD wanted to gimp the 200 series for the 300's release so they split them up,

15.15 - 16th June (300 series only)
15.6 - 23rd June
15.15v2 - 23rd June (300 series only)
15.7 - 8th July

Then they had the drivers not responding issues with the *90 cards which added an extra driver release as well.

Whatever way you put it they really sucked this year when it comes to support and a bundle of releases does not make up for a lack of releases over several months when we was stuck with particular issues in games that released during that period.

As for Omega, we got those in the first half of December and they were not what everyone seems to be saying they were today, At the time I had a 290x and I tested a lot of the games listed by AMD in the Omega presentation and posted my results on this forum and I got negligible performance boosts in the majority, The only real winner was Dirt 3 (I think it was that one) which gave over 10 frames (13 or 14 I think). But all the other games listed as getting massive performance leaps didn't do so well.
