Yes you can but it depends on what you can do inside.

If you wish not to pump any money inside and earn, then you must know how to build or script inside the game. But otherwise , it can be just like Real life. You pump money in to start up and sell your product or services to people and earn profit/revenue. Hope it helps.
 
I played it for a few weeks then quit, its really boring and crappy.

You buy land with r/l money from what i remember, open shops on it, fly around and meet people.

Casino is banned now. Got into loads of trouble with the USA Law. As for naughty club, yes plenty but age verification soon. (18+).

*PLEASE NOTE: I am joking! I couldn't resist!

But on a serious note, when I tried the trial thing it was as if I was playing a rubbish version of runescape (And runescape is bad enough!)
The worst thing was the lag... I had to wait around 10 - 15 minutes before everything loaded, then you walked a few meters and it lagged again whilst it loaded everything...

Although supposedly, people have made a lot of money from it!
 
I don't understand why anyone would put real life money into a game that is, put simply, crap. :p
