Had some amazing advice for my own gaming PC recently and i've decided to set aside some money for a second PC. Here is a link to my gaming PC
Anyway as said in an edit on that thread, i'd like to purchase a second PC for my old man. His PC is very old now and I believe barely capable of the basic things he does for work, let alone some others. So i'd like to purchase a computer for him too.
His uses are more data crunch heavy and a low amount of graphics because he (very very occasionally) plays things like half life or facebook games haha.
Budget would be ~£800 i'd say. It's going to be a business machine. Even though i've been looking a fair amount of stuff up I still couldn't put together a good machine myself for a gaming rig let alone a totally different style of machine. Help!
Question i'd have would be rather simple for this. Desktop vs Laptop.
*He does seem to have a liking for Apple Macs as I can see why if you don't game (I own one) but i'd be worried my current one isn't good enough for his current use and then the cost of a new Apple product on that budget is a bit awkward. That and as i'm not 100% sure what applications he uses for work i'd feel unsafe buying an Apple for that reason. Play it safe with Windows unless anyone knows much about business applications on both platforms. I believe he is a digital solutions specialist if that helps, working heavily on stuff to do with printers and photocopiers. Making business models too.
** No keyboard nor mouse needed. Speakers aren't needed either. Could possibly use a new monitor but the current one would suffice, if anyone can squeeze a monitor into the budget then fantastic but it is not a requirement.
