Sorry for the long post but need to get all the facts in.
Weird thing going on with my notebook extended display:
Laptop is Lenovo X61 native res 1024x768 with Intel GMA. At work i have it connected to a 19" (1440x900) monitor via docking station and usual setup is to have extended desktop with 19" as primary at native 1440 and notebook as secondary at native 1024.
On Wed night i took the laptop home and plugged it into my HDTV as extended desktop and changed res on that to max supported by VGA (1368x768) something i have done countless times before. When i finished i changed the settings to single display on notebook and then unplugged the TV VGA cable.
Get into work the next day and on docking doesnt pick up the second monitor as it usually would so i go to settings and extend desktop to be greeted with a black screen on the 19". After some playing around i find that the only res the 19" will show is 800x600 and this is in a box on the screen not stretched to fit. I have tried this with a different monitor too.
I have tried uninstalling/installing the Intel GMA driver and no change and also took the laptop home last night plugged it back into TV, again works fine at 1368, so i set it to 800x600 (filled the whole screen) then nuplgged it and took it to work this morning and same again.
I'm stumped, my IT guy is stumped, can anyone suggest a solution??
