Ive just picked up a 360 slim but im a little worried about the poor thing!

I had an original 360 and can remember it being pretty loud and this slim one is also quite loud in comparison to my ps3 slim. Is that normal?
Also, the temperature of the top of this xbox seems quite hot to the touch, I was under the impression these slims ran a lot cooler?

I dont have much faith in these things but id like to give it a chance

My slim was quite good for noise, except when the drive span up, is there a disc inserted? Is it noisy straight off the bat or when it's been on a little while?

I wouldn't worry too much, the slim were much better than the phat for reliability.

Thanks for the reply, yeah its when playing a game from the inserted disc. When i was filling out the registration screens for the live trial it was quiet.
Fingers crossed itll last to atleast let me play some exclusives ive missed out on so far :D

The slims are very quiet when playing a game from the HDD.
I don't think I have ever read a case about one of the slims red ringing.
I always install games to the HDD. 5 minutes of noise while its installing then silence for the rest of the time I'm playing

As others have said it'll be your drive then. Install as many of your games to the hard drive as possible to help with the noise. You'll surely have no trouble with it, the slims are really good machines imo, wish I kept mine :)

I have the 360E and my mate has the slim, after a 5 hour sesh on GTA V (playing multiplayer together) both the consoles were very hot and made the room like a sauna :p It's normal
