Bit of an odd one..
I'm happy with it in general but it's a pain in the butt when hooking it up to my 4k telly as a second monitor (running at 1440p)..

GPU only has Hdmi 2.0b so it does 1440p @120hz but it's always a faff with HDR and/or not recognising the TV as a monitor.

Spec is..
Thermalright assassin cooler which I'll keep
Bequiet 450w PSU which I'll keep
6600k cpu
rx480 8gb
Crappy mother board that can't do xmp as my even older z170 bit the dust
16gb 3000mhz RAM
and a crappy case that is new but no airflow

So basically I want to build something that supports Windows11, a GPU that has HDMI 2.1 with equal or better performance than the rx480 8gb & 6600k.

This also means a new mobo and GPU, and possibly RAM.

I'm unsure whether to just start from scratch, or canibalise the PC in my sig and then upgrade that as it could do with a bump for 4k gaming performance.

4k gaming what sort of games as that's gonna dictate GPU performance requirements.

Rx 480 level performance ain't gonna cut it unless it's Pacman.

6800 XT would be good for 4K in your second PC and you could upgrade to a 4080 Super or 7900 XTX.

If you just wanted casual gaming, then maybe the new AM5 APUs, though reviews like HUB did show that a cheap CPU and cheap graphics card are better price/perf than an APU is.

Sorry just to clarify only one of the PC's needs to be really up to 4K, the one in my bedrooom thats plugged into a 4k oled...

The Other (in the living room)is ok at 1440p as that's what my monitor is, but it also has a 4k oled tv as a second monitor for casual couch gaming - the oled seems to look fine downscaled to 1440p - the rx480 is stil just about coping with this, but it only has hdmi 2.0b, a combination of that, and hardware limited to windows 10 on teh i56600 CPU seems to be making it a bit of a pain though, it always seems to be a faf when running the tv as 2nd monitor, windows not always detecting it unless reboot, HDR in windows randomly not being available, etc.
