Hi guys!

I have a lot of 'raw' pictures from my Sony RX100, they take a lot of space but naturally I don't like deleting pictures, specially raw ones.

So, I need something to store them all on, here is the tricky part.

I travel a lot and will be investing in a tablet soon so I'm able to backup my pictures onto said portable HDD as and when I get time.

I want the drive to be durable, small in size but large in storage, at least 1TB. Months worth of pictures will go onto it before I even get a chance to transfer them onto a backup solution in the UK.

So, my main requirements are:

> 1TB drive space
Small in size, pocket would be amazing
Durable, needs to take a few knocks
USB powered would be preferred but not crucial.

Price... Not really fussed, below 4 figures though haha.

Well there isn't much difference between brands in terms of reliability.

Your choice is more of standard mechanical HDD, Solid State drive or USB Flash drive.

The mechanical drive is more likely to suffer damage from knocks and bangs. There are some like the Adata that are housed in Shockproof/Waterproof cases which would be the ones to look at if you want to go that route.

The SSD is very robust and should survive any knocks, OC don't seem to sell any, though you could by a internal SSD and put it in a usb caddy that supports SSDs. The cost is a lot higher for this option. You'd probably need a few smaller ones to be cost effective.

At an even higher cost still is the USB Flash drive option, most cost effective to buy multiple drives than one big one and safer if you did lose 1 you wouldn't loose everything.
