Hey all, I recently purchased a Vertex 2E, and after I installed the IRST drivers, it mucked up my windows 7 install, and now I want to wipe the SSD to factory defaults. I tried using HDDErase, but after I typed in the command hdderase, it responded with 'bad command or file name'.

What am I doing wrong? Is there an easier way to completely wipe the drive back to default performance?

This is driving me crazy, so please help :(

thanks a lot

Yeah, I selected IDE, and the further IDE options were 'compatible' enhanced' and 'disabled'. I also searched the bootable disc I put HDDErase on, incase the 'hdderase' command was not spelt the same as the executable, or it was not in the root directory.

Are there any other tools i can use? thanks a lot

I managed to do it :D. For some reason it did not like the CD-Rom, so I made a bootable USB drive and it was successful. Thanks a lot for your help. I also found out why the IRST drivers borked my install. I previously had two 500gb sammys in RAID0 on my last windows 7 install - before I got the Vertex, and even though I had changed the BIOS to AHCI, and formatted the sammys, the RST STILL picked up the drives as RAID. I had to go back into RAID in the BIOS and erase the array. I feel like an idiot now :P. Thanks everyone
