Anyone know how to do this?

As Disk Utility doesn't let you secure erase an SSD as it greys out the option, only lets you for traditional hard drives.

not a clue about macs, but does parted magic work or gp parted? it boots/runs from dvd/memory stick and loads into pc memory

Apparently, if I partition the SSD to all 'empty space' then you can use a secure erase empty space according to this guide.

Il give it a go after i get my RMBP which is replacing my MBA and tell you how it goes.

Since when? How do you install an OS on a Mac these days?

Also, do you really need to securely erase it, format not enough?

And yes I have lots of personal and business financial information on it. And its either going on Fleabay or the Members Market so with some of the scum that hangs out on Fleabay I'd rather take precautions.
