Security cameras and thieves

I have Hive cameras that are setup to switch the conservatory light on if motion is detected at the rear and the living room reading light on if motion is detected at the front. Reviewing the footage of activations, I've caught two guys (twice) checking car doors, one guy coming up the drive way and one guy hopping over the back fence - in all instances they have run off after the lights have come on, so I think they are worth having. I've turned text notifications off though.
