Seen a Ghost?

Sorry to have to say this, but if you post stuff like this on these forums, your going to get ripped apart.

The amount of closed minded people on here is unbelievable. :(

I have many paranormal experiences too, but I wouldn't discuss them here, cant be bothered with all the flack tbh. You know what you believe, as myself and I would just leave it there. ;)

Its funny that all the people who don't believe in ghosts haven't seen/heard any but then the people who do believe in ghosts always have believed in ghosts, usually for no reason!

Somebody once asked me why nobody ever sees a black/asian ghost?

I wasn't aware Ghosts have ever been seen at all. let alone enough to gain that kind of prejudice statement.

For the record I'm not counting movement in the corner of your eye or a face in your Nan's gravy tray as sightings.

I saw my grandad the night he died in a dream. Woke up the next morning to be told the news. Now considering I have not seen him since 1997 how does one work that out on why he would appear in my dream all alone in a hall sat down ?

Nope never, always been really interested in the subject but never seen or had anything odd happend. I've kind of become sceptical they even exist.

I didn't whitness it but there were strange goings on at my aunties after her son died. I was shot down on here when I mentioned this, even though I'd said I didn't even believe it was a ghost!

Because some people like to believe in stuff like that, where others prefer live in a world of logic and obvious truth?

It's not weird, it's just preference. Those who believe in Ghosts don't have some extra sense in order to see them, so don't even go there. :p

I'm sorry to hear about your Granddad but that means nothing. There are loads of explanations. It doesn't mean your Granddad came to you in a dream.

It could be complete coicidence. You have several dreams per night, so you've probably dreamed about your Granddad more times than you can remember, but he didn't die each time you dreamt about him?

The brain can also pick up on external stimuli when dreaming. Your parents could have been talking about your Granddad within earshot of you whilst you were sleeping and worked it into your dream. Have you never fallen asleep when watching the TV and you've dreamt about the voices you can here?

I don't - for the most part - believe in ghosts.

However, my mind has played tricks on me more than a dozen times. I've seen or heard people that aren't there etc... Usually I'm at tired/stressed/drunk so I wouldn't trust my mind.

Precisely. I once pulled an all nighter doing work. I finally retired at 8.30am for some sleep. My eyes were sore and I was extremely tired. I saw a face in my window and when I blinked it had gone.

Obviously a mild hallucination, but some people would have that and then instantly say "I SAW A GHOST OMG GUARDIAN ANGLE WATCHING OVER ME!!"

I get this all the time usually with my alarm in the morning, my alarm goes off (which is kanye west) then the song becomes part of my dream and then it takes me ages to realise the noise and wake up :p

Wasn't there a massive thread on ghosts a few months ago with lots of stories :confused:

Never seen a ghost and personally dont believe in them even though (http://nupo.org/item/ghost-hunt)

Acoms Razor... Which is the more likely state of affairs;

1) People's 'soul' transcends the mind and defies several laws of physics. Leaving people's 'soul' to wander the earth terrorising people, mainly when they're alone and mainly in the dark. And these encounters have never been caught on camera in controlled circumstances.

Or;

2) People imagine their ghost experiences. Afterall, people go crazy and imagine things are there [which are not] every day, hallucinations can seem 100% real to the person suffering them, be that aural or visual hallucinations. Also, as above most sightings are made in the dark, many objects can lose their definition and seem to be something else, very much in the same way you can see a face or a dog in the clouds.

Pretty plain cut to me, number one is a completely unprovable theory which has no basis in any fact, or any scientific explination of any kind. Second option is proven in hundreds of thousands of cases of hallucination and disorders/mental problems that cause hallucinations are well documented and even have medicines designed for them.

As far as I'm aware there are no laws in physics that say that a soul, or a ghost cannot exist.

I agree with you though. Your 2nd explianation is probably correct.

Nope. Chairs have been dragged around in the kitchen before though, and I have the room right above it so can hear it well whilst its happening. Also the house is alarmed and a few times the alarms gone off in the kitchen. :/

It's usually when my nan is visiting us for a weekend of something too.

I personally haven't seen one, but I've felt a certain presence in two separate properties. Sometimes ghosts aren't things you can see, but you can sense them in other ways - sometimes it's just a heavily negative feeling in a place, but I'm more sensitive to these things that most people.

The first property is a place in Belsize Park - a house that a friend of mine lived in for a year. I didn't see anything but it was clear something bad had happened there and the vibes still lingered. I always felt uncomfortable going into that place, it had a very bleak, sad feeling as soon as you walked in.

The second is the house next door to where my my mum lives. In the early 80s a baby died in the back room of the house. Now, every time you go in you can feel this nasty tense atmosphere which intensifies as you go into the back room. Four families have lived in the house since then, each one has done serious redecorating and building work to achieve the right feel and, I believe, remove this sensation that they couldn't put their finger on. What adds weight to the story is that fact that Andrew, a kid I knew from the first family that moved in after the tragedy, said he was kept awake some nights by a baby crying downstairs, when the family didn't have a baby.

Nothing amazing there I know. My aunt is a medium though, but I have declined her offers to join her circle because it's not really something I want to get involved in.
