My SX finally has a working handbrake again after stripping the whole damn setup to bits and rebuilding it. But the brakes themselves really don't inspire any kind of confidence. It's a good thing it only has 42hp to play with....
 according to This ... and Yeah,  my handbrake is Not working at all.... the last notch manages to hold the car on a slight incline.
