Seicento Sporting Speed tests

Seeing as it's a nice hot day and the road is in fairly good condition, i went out and did some speed tests in my standard seicento sporting:

0-40mph = 5.0 seconds
40-60mph = 5.7 seconds
60-0= 5 seconds

I did some tests as well.

35-40: 0.5 seconds

With all due respect, your brakes must be rubbish. 70 metres to stop from 60mph?

My 0-6 in my tractor was 4.5 seconds, the book says 12 seconds but I know better. I beat a ferrari the other day innit.

Yup, my brakes are absolutely dreadful... There is a fine line between nothing at all and locking up... so i took great care

Honestly, Seicento brakes truly are rubbish. Comically bad, in fact

My SX finally has a working handbrake again after stripping the whole damn setup to bits and rebuilding it. But the brakes themselves really don't inspire any kind of confidence. It's a good thing it only has 42hp to play with....

54Bhp in mine ?? :confused:

according to This ... and Yeah, my handbrake is Not working at all.... the last notch manages to hold the car on a slight incline. As for footbraking, i tend to use Gears mostly lol

Yeah, I was on about mine. It's the older SX with the 899cc pushrod motor - nominally 39 horsies, mine has 42 for some reason.

I can recommend Formula 1 Autocentres. I couldn't be arsed to do the job as it's a sodding 'mare. The F1 Auto in Burton charged me for an hour of labour to sort it - despite it taking closer to two hours and despite the fact that it drew blood from the guy working on it

Heh. I do tend to use the 'box in combination with the brakes when I need to get slowed down in a hurry.

Can you explain your method? How did you time it? How did you know when to start/stop the clock? Who started/stopped the clock?

How dare you criticise the accuracy of a 10 year old speedo, counting in your head, and a mobile phone camera for evidence!
