Well.. I just saw the video of Michael Richards (Kramer) going completely wild at a stand up audience (screaming the N* word at some black folk), obviously I can't post the video, but here's the cnn report that shows some of the footage bleeped out etc.

So basically i'm just wondering what people make of this. I'm not really sure whether he was ripping into black people or whether he was ripping into Texan racists (he seems to put a kfc kernel accent on whilst being racist, but then, he really went for it, and it wasn't very comical).. Either was you can't really go around screaming the N word at black people, so, is it time for Seinfeld and Larry David to weep over lost royalties?, kinda taints Seinfeld for me, and I'm a huuuuuge fan.

Thoughts? (tonight Matthew, I will be ElRazur).

Further proof that Humans are just less stupid versions of animals..still stupid though. Like Einstein said "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former."

Seems he apologized on the late show with letterman last night. Can't find a full vid but the bit i've seen is scary, he looks kinda crazy. Poor Kramer :(.

Don't really pay any attention to things like this, i mean its ok for two black guys to make a film like white chicks, where they stereotype rich white girls, however if two white guys were to make a film impersonating black people it would be racist.

Can't have it both ways.

Calling someone a N*** is not sterotyping dude. Thats just being rascist.

Cant see how.

Chris Rock finds it ok to go around referring to "cracker jack honks"....

I disagree. Depending on how you get on with the person, its like calling your mate a fat *******. Purely a discriptive, and in a joking way.

If there was some random black guy I wouldn't call him a ******, nor would I call the fat bloke fat. Get what I'm saying?

It's not often Interweb clips can make me uncomfortable but that sure as hell hit the mark....Chris Rock uses his "racism" in a generalized way, which i can't say i find funny or offensive really....He's also quick to slate his own people when he complains n****** make life hard for black people (gangs, drugs, etc)....

Kramer however is actually verbally attacking a group of blacks in his audience for apparently talking too much?....It's a directed racist rant at them and them only....Shocking!

As much as I hate Chris Rock, I have to agree with him on one point: "I love black people but I hate *******."

Much like I love white people but hate benifit-cheating, dole-wasting charvers.

Seriously. Search youtube to find the Chris Rock/I hate ******* video, watch it and replace 'black people' with 'white people' and '*******' with 'charvers'.

Normally I would agree with you, but if you watch the video of him you can quite clearly see he goes way over the line. People were walking out on him and he still continues, he was not saying it in any funny way.

Well he pointed enough at them so i don't think he had to be descriptive, i'm sure when he pointed to the balcony everyone looked up....A simple point and STFU would have done i think ;)

But to say

Is crossing the line and simply wrong

People are often amused by anger or feigned anger and shocking comments. I believe he was probably just trying to shut up a couple of hecklers and tried to deal with them by being so offensive and controveral that it would become funny. It didn't work and he lost control.

To be honest, i don't think that Kramer dude is 100% anyway.

On the other hand, people from certain ethnic backgrounds tend to be more easily offended than others.....

I couldn't help but laugh at the 50 years ago we'd have you upside down with a fork up your ass comment. That's the sort of thing Chris Rock would say, however the rest of it was just blatent racism, and he had a nasty tone in the way he delivered it too. Not nice at all.

Exactly what I was thinking. He made a joke and it didn't go down well, and rather than just stop and carry on with his act, he got carried away and basically dug himself a hole.

Bit of a tit really.

Yup.

I have to say the heckler came back and said "What have you done since Seinfeld?" and he basically had nothing to say apart from stand up.

I can understand why people get offended but when it's said in films and black comedians use it it seems to be okay.

I can understand being upset at the whole thing but the first joke didn't sound that bad.
