Self Build Camper Ideas

Halfway through the build, out to take the wagon away for a couple of nights for work - will see how it fairs - hope nothing blows up or falls off. Now the basics are done I can move onto the fun stuff! :D

Bit of a thread revival - but have finished most of the structural work so its on to the gadgets - got a solar panel coming, and some solar garden lights (60 of them on a cable). Got hold of a cheap PS2 and a dvd/mp3/divx car stereo with a 3 1/2 inch screen for the front-routed to the tv in the back. Using a laptop at present to save power as the beer fridge takes quite a bit.

Any other ideas :D

Cant believe no-ones got any ideas - I've spent so long in the thing I'm a bit outa steam. What should I put in the thing? Want it to be gadget maximum - without being bling! :D

Throw me some of your thoughts (got a generator now so can go to 750W power!)

ta!

A decent soundsystem! Could mount a nice sub under a bed, have coax speakers in the ceiling in a 5.1 arrangement - the sky's the limit!

750W - pffft - couldn't even power a decent back seat jacuzzi on that! How you supposed to create bling-tastic on that?

15kVA of powered fun! Get one of those and then we can talk!

Lazy-Boy, 6 screen gaming, Mr Whippy icecream machine ...... mmmmm..... ice-cream gaming! :p

putting a leather comfy chair in there, a beer cooler (and pump/barrel if I can sorce it) plus some optics- def cant fit a jacuzzi - good idea though!

Keep them coming

I bought a 700W genny, it was OK except it was vey loud, so I bought a 3KW diesel one and believe it or not it is actually quieter, as well as being more economical.

As an aside I saw one of those huge Lunar caravans with twin axles in a shop window notice board today for 500 euros...... I'd look like a traveller though.:(

Got a hob and oven will be going in next week (when I get the time for basics - hob is all I need for bacon butties!)

Never liked caravans - thats why I went for a van - look like a white van man instead :D

Dont know much about sound systems - there used to be an amp/subs in there - I would like to put them back (but the bloke wanted £1000 for them) - anyone know what I need - theres space for 2 9 inch big speakers)

If you wanted to save on power you could always go for one of these

twin 640x480 screens - a little small, but the 62" screen at 9' would be sweet and certainly make the van seem bigger :D (And at £200 they are a steal!!)

3 degree of freedom head tracker
 :D I want one!!!
