Self build - help please

Yeah thats the one i was looking at, i want to keep this comp for at least 3 yrs so this would be ok with ddr3 support, and from what ive been reading this is meant to be a good overclocker isnt it?

Yes it should be. the formula has shown to a extremely good over clocker here on the forum
And there are a couple of forum members who have the extreme and it has shown to be a good over clocker.

look at post #2, it almost fitted everything you origanally wanted and was just a tiny bit over you budget. post your final spec before you buy though

Thanx for your time mate, i like the spec in post #2 + #3 i may opt for the raptors in raid0 yet, ill be back to get your final approval before purchase.

Thanx to everyone for your warm welcome and great responces,

Regards Jody

Hi jody,

Raptors arent significantly faster in comparison to other drives, except in seek speeds, and since encoding is basically data transfer, they wont offer much more in that task IMO.

Id go for RAID0 for the in progress encoding and the operating system, another large drive for storage and backup etc.

welcome to the forums =]

All of the specs I've read here include graphics cards which have 256mb of memory.

I cannot recommend enough stretching that extra little bit and getting 512MB, because it will really be worth your while in the long run.

You didn't mention the size of your monitor, but if it's much above 17" then I would definately spend the extra money for the extra Vmemory.
