Who does it ? What size unit do you use? Who do you use for it?

Currently paying £140 a month for a 75 sq ft unit with "the self storage company" , which from competitors quotes, is quite a good price i believe

Just interested to see how many others use self storage really.

Would use a garage but the current property doesn't have one and the loft isn't suitable (not allowed to board it, despite offering to do it)

Paying £120 a month for a container currently. It's mainly full of household junk as we are doing the house up and have no room. I'm sure it would be cheaper to buy a knackered old high top Transit, fill it up and stick it outside on SORN.

looked into it last time I moved, decided that the price of second hand stuff is so cheap. That even if I only needed it for 12months. it would cost more than chucking everything at the tip and buying it again.

There's a lot to be said for this point of view.

we pay £1000 a year for ours but we do have a lot of expensive furniture in it.

Cheers, just confirms that i'm not paying over the odd's for what i have at the moment. More a case of wanting it's space than it's company with a lot of stuff, spare chairs for dining table with visitors over, christmas decs etc..

A neighbour used to rent a garage off another elderly neighbour who had no need for it. Think he was paying something like £20 a month for it. I bet he was gutted when she moved out and the house was sold.
